Stellantis will lay off 2,450 employees at its Michigan plant due to the end of production of the Ram 1500 Classic pickup truck.

Stellantis is making a significant decision in the automotive sector by ending production of the Ram 1500 Classic model. This decision will result in the layoff of more than 2,000 employees.

Stellantis announced that production of the Ram 1500 Classic at its Warren Truck Assembly Plant will end later this year with the launch of the new Ram 1500.

As a result, the plant will switch from a two-shift to a single-shift operation model, the statement said, adding that other operations at the plant will continue to operate in two shifts to support Jeep Wagoneer production.

With the end of production of the Ram 1500 Classic pickup truck, 2,450 workers at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant will be laid off.
