Stellantis to launch 30 new hybrid models in the European market

Stellantis announced that it will launch 30 different hybrid models in Europe in 2024.

Continuing its investments in multi-energy vehicles, Stellantis wants to respond quickly to increasing customer demand in Europe, especially with its advanced hybrid models featuring the latest eDCT technology.

In this context, the company will launch 30 new hybrid models this year. In addition, the company plans to launch six more models on the roads by 2026.

Hybrid versions reduce carbon emissions at a more affordable price level compared to fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, while offering the user a superior driving experience.

Mild hybrid models are vehicles that have a small electric motor and battery in addition to a gasoline or diesel engine.

The company aims for 70% of all European sales to consist of electric vehicles by 2030.

Stellantis has recorded a 41 percent increase in sales of its AB30 hybrid models since the beginning of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023.

However, the proportion of new customers is also expected to increase with the introduction of new models in the future.

The company is the sales leader in low-emission vehicles, including electric, fuel cell, plug-in hybrid and hybrid, in the A and B segments and in the light commercial vehicle markets in the AB30 market.

Most hybrid vehicles under the Stellantis brand on sale in Europe are now equipped with advanced eDCT technology and an integrated 21 kilowatt electric motor.

The electric motor enables the vehicle to move when the internal combustion engine is switched off while driving. The system’s 48-volt, 0.9 kilowatt-hour battery provides a range of up to 1 kilometer when driving steady, while also providing some electrical support at half load or while cruising.

Stellantis currently produces hybrid vehicles at more than 70 percent of its European facilities.

The mild hybrid models that will be available in Europe by the end of the year are as follows:

  • Alfa Romeo Junior / Tonale
  • Citroën New C3 / New C3 AirCross / C4 / C4X / C5 AirCross / C5X
  • DS 3 / DS 4
  • Fiat Panda / 600
  • Jeep Avenger / Renegade / Compass
  • Lancia Ypsilon
  • Maserati Grecale
  • Opel Corsa / Astra / Astra SportsTourer / Mokka / Frontera / New Grandland
  • Peugeot 208 / 308 / 308 SW / 408 / 2008 / New 3008 / New 5008

According to the company, sales of EU30 hybrid models will increase by 41 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year.
