Over 40,000 pre-orders: Electric Range Rover coming soon

Jaguar Land Rover engineers have been working on the new generation electric Range Rover for a long time, and it has already reached 42,000 pre-orders.

Jaguar Land Rover’s new flagship fully electric vehicle, the Range Rover Electric, will be “the quietest and most refined Range Rover ever created”.

The Range Rover Electric, which will go on sale towards the end of 2024, will feature “active road noise cancellation”.

The Range Rover Electric will use the same Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) as the internal combustion engine models and will be built at the same factory in Solihull, England.

The company announced that the car has attracted great interest before its launch and has reached 42,000 reservations.

The electric Range Rover will also come with a new traction control system, a first for the brand, which will significantly increase grip on slippery surfaces.

JLR plans to source batteries for its electric models from Tata unit Agratas, but initially the batteries will come from elsewhere. Agratas will build planned cell facilities in the UK and India.

JLR has not yet announced the battery size or planned range of the electric Range Rover.

The company, which announced that it will invest £15 billion in the transformation over 5 years, will turn Jaguar into a fully electric brand.

On the Land Rover side, electric versions of all its models will be produced by 2030.
