Mercedes-Benz published sales data for the second quarter of the year. The company's electric vehicle sales decreased by 25 percent during this period.
German automobile manufacturer Mercedes' pre-sales figures for the second quarter of 2024 were shared.
The company sold 4 percent fewer vehicles in the April-June 2024 period compared to the same period of the previous year.
While Mercedes' second quarter sales were 496 thousand 700, the company recorded a decline for the fourth consecutive quarter.
Mercedes sold approximately 45 thousand 800 electric cars in the last three months. This means a 25 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2023.
In its statement on the subject, the company attributed the sharp decline to insufficient demand.
With a recent decision, the German company postponed its plan to be fully electric by 2030.
