In this period, when electric cars have completely entered our lives, sales have increased so much that diesel has overtaken Europe's most preferred engine option for years.
According to the report of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), electric took the lead in the engine options of cars sold within the borders of the European Union last June. According to the current data shared, the long-standing leadership of the diesel engine has come to an end.
According to the report, the total number of diesel cars sold in the European Union in June reached 140 thousand. While diesel cars covered 13.4% of this sales figure, electric cars were sold at a rate of 15.1% with 158 thousand units.
Gasoline cars were sold at a rate of 36.3 percent, while hybrid models remained at 25 percent. Tesla Model Y was the most electric car.
