Chinese technology giant Xiaomi starts mass production of its first electric car this month.
Xiaomi introduced its highly anticipated electric car at the event held on December 28.
The car named Xiaomi SU7 will be produced by Beijing Automotive Industry Holding (BAIC) on behalf of Xiaomi in China.
The coupe electric car will be available under the name of the company's popular smartphone brand Mi and will come in three different versions: SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max.
Production of Xiaomi SU7, Xiaomi's first car, starts this month. According to reports in the Chinese press, mass production of the Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan will start towards the end of February.
The company will probably put the production line into operation on February 19, right after the Chinese New Year holiday.
It is stated that SU7 can travel up to 800 kilometers on a single charge. Xiaomi also announced that it will launch the new V8 version of the SU7, which will include a larger 150 kWh battery pack. This new version will offer longer range and improved performance.
