Hyundai Mobis has done something that has not yet been done in the automobile industry. So much so that he developed the system that allows four wheels to be controlled independently.
While improving power efficiency by reducing components in driving systems, it is also aimed to improve driving performance by controlling all wheels independently. In addition to the in-wheel system, zero turn and crab walk, it is an indispensable mobility solution for the e-Corner module.
Hyundai Mobis developed this system, which no automobile company has done before, together with Hyundai Motor Company. With the system developed on IONIQ 5, it is possible for the wheels to rotate at a 90 degree angle.
Oh Heung-sub, Vice President of Electrification at Hyundai Mobis, said: "We plan to complete the development of this technology, which is both durable and reliable, so that we can begin mass production of the in-wheel system by the end of this year. We will continue to idealize the technology to prepare ourselves for the future of mobility."
