Volvo, a major player in the Turkish automotive market, has made an unexpected decision to end the sale of sedan models in our country.
The main reason for this decision is the new customs duties applied to vehicles imported from China.
Volvo Car, which broke an all-time record in Turkey in 2023 and reached a sales figure of 11,646 units, will no longer sell sedans in our country.
Volvo Car Turkey General Manager Alican Emiroğlu said that the brand's compact SUV model XC40 will no longer offer a gasoline engine option and that the car will continue on its way only as electric under the name EX40.
Since Volvo's sedan models are mainly produced in China, the new customs duties have significantly increased the cost of these vehicles.
This situation has caused both an increase in prices for consumers and a negative impact on the brand's profitability.
Volvo officials have decided that this is not a sustainable business model and have chosen to stop the sale of sedan models.
