EU Court Didn't Allow Permission for Audi Logo

EU Court Didn't Allow Permission for Audi Logo

The logo lawsuit filed by the German giant against the Polish spare parts company has been concluded.

The case filed by Audi at the European Court of Justice regarding the spare parts supply company's use of a logo similar to the Audi logo has been concluded. In the decision made by the court, it was decided that the use of Audi's logo and similar ones on spare parts could be prevented.

In the decision, it was emphasized that the company producing spare parts should design a new logo in an original way to place on its products.

Thus, a precedent decision was set to prevent companies that want to create a wrong perception with logos similar to popular brands.

In the case in question, Audi was sued by the Audi logo on the radiator grilles produced by a spare parts manufacturer in Poland for old Audi models.
