Production of Up, the cheapest Volkswagen model, has been discontinued. The reason is because there is not enough demand.
German automotive giant Volkswagen announced that it will end the production of the UP, the smallest model in its product range, because it does not see sufficient demand. VW, which made the same decision for Scirocco in the past years, also pulled the plug on UP.
It did not go unnoticed that VW, which set out to become fully electrified by 2025, ended the production of cars with classic names in its product range after the ID series.
It is thought that the production of the e-UP, which is currently produced electrically, will also be stopped and that it will continue with an ID series in the smaller segment.
