Rolls-Royce is in an enviable position, with customers eager to invest more in their cars. Recently, Rolls-Royce asked its clientele what they would like to see in a facelifted Ghost, and the overwhelming response was for more customization options. The result? The new Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, featuring a "monolithic and self-assured" exterior, designed to be a perfect canvas for bespoke commissions.
Customers of the previous Ghost model already spent an average of 10% above the car’s base price on bespoke customizations, and that number is expected to rise with the launch of the Ghost Series II.
Exterior Enhancements on the Ghost Series II
The exterior updates are subtle yet impactful. The Ghost Series II boasts new, slimmer daytime running light graphics and a refreshed front end with fewer vents, allowing the iconic Pantheon grille to stand out. The rear sports new Spectre-inspired tail lights, and buyers can choose from two new 22-inch wheel designs.
A new exterior color, Mustique Blue, joins Rolls-Royce’s extensive palette of over 44,000 hues. This metallic shade pays homage to both the Caribbean island of Mustique and the lightweight 1929 Phantom II Continental prototype.
Performance and Features Under the Hood
The familiar twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 engine remains unchanged, delivering an impressive 563bhp and 627lb-ft of torque, available from just 1,600 rpm. The car continues to offer Rolls-Royce’s advanced Planar Suspension System, all-wheel steering, electronically controlled shock absorbers, and self-levelling air struts, ensuring a smooth and luxurious ride.
Additionally, the Satellite Aided Transmission uses GPS data to pre-select the optimal gear, while the Flagbearer System scans the road ahead to prepare the suspension for any imperfections.
Interior Upgrades and Connectivity
Inside the Ghost Series II, Rolls-Royce introduces its Spirit operating system, first seen in the Spectre. The dashboard now features digital dials and a backlit Spirit of Ecstasy figurine below the clock. Customization enthusiasts will love the Illuminated Fascia, which mimics a celestial time-lapse photograph—though buyers can create their own motifs through the Bespoke program.
Rear passengers are treated to upgraded tech, including the ability to connect two different streaming devices to the rear screens and pair them with Bluetooth headphones. The audio system now features an 18-speaker setup powered by a 1,400-watt amplifier, and the new Grey Stained Ash wood and Duality Twill bamboo rayon fabric add a fresh touch to the cabin.
Extended Wheelbase for More Space
If more space is a priority, the Ghost Extended Series II adds an extra 170mm of rear legroom by extending the wheelbase and rear doors. Luxury features such as a Champagne cooler with settings for vintage and non-vintage varieties are also available.
The Black Badge Ghost Series II
Lastly, Rolls-Royce has also updated the Black Badge Ghost Series II, the more performance-oriented version of the Ghost. It offers an additional 29bhp and 37lb-ft of torque, along with a redesigned lower grille, black chrome accents, and forged 22-inch wheels. Inside, expect darker materials, carbon fiber, and the signature black chrome that defines the Black Badge models.
With all these updates, Rolls-Royce continues to cater to its discerning and bold clientele, providing endless possibilities for bespoke luxury.
