Waymo's Driverless Taxi Set on Fire

Waymo's driverless taxi was set on fire by a group in San Francisco, USA.

In recent years, the number of companies developing driverless vehicle technologies has increased significantly. One of these companies, Google's company Waymo, which plans to offer a completely driverless robot taxi service in the future, has been conducting driverless robot taxi tests for years.

Waymo has been providing driverless taxis for a while in San Francisco, USA.

An angry crowd in San Francisco attacked Waymo's self-driving taxi and set it on fire.

The attack took place on Saturday, February 10, at around 9 pm. There is no official statement yet as to why the attack took place.

As you can imagine, driverless vehicles move slower than normal vehicles.

According to reports, the Waymo vehicle driving on Jackson Street in San Francisco's Chinatown caused a minor traffic congestion.

Later, a person jumped on the hood of the vehicle, broke the windshield and ignited the events. Burning fireworks were thrown inside the Jaguar I-Pace model vehicle to set it on fire.

On the other hand, it is already known that the people of San Francisco do not want driverless vehicles.

Last year, a group started a protest against Waymo and Cruise vehicles and neutralized them by placing traffic cones on the hoods of the vehicles.

Driverless vehicles have been involved in various incidents in San Francisco, including blocking traffic, crashing into a bus, and even running over a dog.

The most serious incident last October sparked a huge debate about the future of driverless taxis.

A human-driven vehicle hit a pedestrian, throwing him in front of a Cruise self-driving taxi.

The driverless Cruise vehicle stopped while the wheels were still on the pedestrian, then moved again and started dragging him.

Following this accident, Waymo's CEO resigned and some of the company's permits were cancelled.
