Istanbul Park Debate Continues

The debate between TOSFED president and current Istanbul Park business owner Intercity continues.

Intercity, which has had the operating rights of Istanbul Park since October 10, 2012 after being established in 2005, is about to come to the end of its 10-year agreement. Istanbul Park, which also hosted Formula 1 races in 2020 and 2021 during this period, is on the agenda with a new discussion these days.

In his statement, TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı complained about the fact that national athletes could not use the track and that the track was not used for its purpose. In addition, he added that they continue to operate the park even though the Intercity contract ends on July 18, 2023.

While the response to these statements was not delayed, İTO President Şekib Avdagiç said, "We will not allow the business world and the Istanbul Park brand to be tarnished, having invested 160 million USD, undertaking its management, organizing Formula 1 7 times between 2005 and 2011, and taking responsibility." He added a new dimension to the subject by saying.
