High Power Charging Network Initiative from Mercedes and BMW in China

BMW and Mercdes-Benz Group China met in China last Thursday to collaborate on building a high-power charging network.

Following the agreement, "premium charging services" are intended to be offered to new energy vehicle, namely NEV, users in China. The partnership initiative, which is divided into two by 50 percent, aims to establish a charging network consisting of more than a thousand charging stations and approximately more than 7 thousand powerful charging batteries by the end of 2026.

With the new charging stations having a public design, BMW and Mercedes customers will have special services such as online booking. According to comments made by industry analysts, this move by German automotive giants also reflects the increasing demand in the market.

In China, which has become an important market for BMW and Mercedes, BMW sold 791,985 cars last year, while Mercedes managed to sell 751,700 vehicles.
