Ford Recalls More Than 40 Thousand Vehicles Due to Fire Risk

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that an investigation was launched against Ford and that a total of 42 thousand cars sold by the company were added to the recall list due to fire risk.

Automobile manufacturers occasionally initiate recall programs due to problems with their vehicles.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that it had launched an investigation into Ford and that there was concern about a fuel leak in the car's engine that could lead to a fire.

NHTSA said it initiated the recall of more than 40 thousand SUV models due to the problem in question.

The auto safety regulator said it is reviewing the adequacy and safety implications of Ford's proposed recall solution for the 2022-2023 model year Bronco Sport and 2022 Ford Escape SUVs with 1.5L engines.

While Ford is working on an engine control software update and a purge installation, replacing the cracked fuel injector is risky.

In the statement made by the company, it was noted that it was aware of five underhood fires in 1.5L Escape and Bronco Sport vehicles, but there were no reports of accidents or injuries on the subject.

NHTSA reminded that Ford recalled approximately 522 thousand 2020-2023 Ford Escape and 2021-2023 Ford Bronco Sport due to the same problem in 2022.
