More than 300 thousand vehicles produced in Kocaeli in the first half of 2024

83 percent of the 310 thousand 757 vehicles produced by automotive companies operating in Kocaeli in the first half of the year were sent abroad.

Hosting the production facilities of Ford Otosan, Hyundai Assan and Anadolu Isuzu, Kocaeli produced more than 300 thousand vehicles in the January-June period.

According to the data of the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), 310 thousand 757 passenger and commercial vehicles rolled off the assembly line in the factories located in İzmit, Gölcük, Başiskele and Çayırova in the first half of 2024.

Kocaeli's contribution to Turkey's total automotive production was 42 percent. The average daily number of vehicles rolled off the assembly line in the city's factories was 1,707.

The delivery address of 256 thousand 880, corresponding to 83 percent of the vehicles produced, was abroad. In addition, the share of vehicles produced in Kocaeli and sold abroad in Turkey's overall exports was 51 percent.

Ford Otosan ranked first in production and exports in the first 6 months of the year among the companies in the city.

184 thousand 382 vehicles came off the production line in the company's facilities in Gölcük and Başiskele.

The exports of Ford Otosan Kocaeli factories, where the Transit, Custom and Courier models are produced, were recorded as 151 thousand 599 units during this period.

Hyundai Assan, which produces the i10, i20 and Bayon models in its factory established in İzmit, produced 122 thousand 376 vehicles in the January-June period and sent 104 thousand 628 of these, corresponding to 85 percent, abroad.

Anadolu Isuzu also exported 653 of the 3 thousand 999 vehicles it brought off the production line.
