The United States Highway Safety Administration announced that it is preparing to recall approximately 2 million vehicles due to a bug in Tesla's software.
In the statement made, the incident is being given extra attention because the software error in question directly concerns the autopilot system. It was added that the production years of the models to be recalled include 2 million 30 thousand vehicles produced and sold between October 5, 2012 and December 7, 2023.
While there is no single model subject to recall, Model S, 3, X and Y are directly affected. It is known that Tesla, owned by Elon Musk, the richest businessman in the world, can easily fix the software error in question.
Special efforts are being made to prevent fatal consequences from the Tesla autopilot system, which has been involved in 11 accidents to date.
